A Critical Care Surgeon Meets the Great Physician

My testimony appears in the March 2017 issue of Christianity Today. This is very close to my heart; I pray the Lord uses it to encourage others.

Thank you for your writings and insight as a medical practitioner and your testimony. I just forwarded your testimony onto my sister who does not know His saving grace. She is a PA. With most experience in ICU and transplant. Thank you for gleaning on His strength and suffering He endured for all who know Him to know just s glimpse of suffering. Your insight into patient care while treating the immediate need is a special gift the Lord has blessed you with. I am an RN and grateful for physicians as yourself.

Thank you so much for your kind words, Heather. I think one of the big challenges in medicine is grappling with heart-wrenching issues that are essentially spiritual, but for which there’s little forum for discussion. Thank you for your work. I will keep you and your sister in my prayers.

As an RN with several years of experience, I can so relate to your testimony. Thank you for sharing your story. Yes, I have been overwhelmed myself. From the many stories in Pediatric, Trauma/Burn and Neonatal ICUs, to the experiences with families dealing with long term conditions/disorders during my years as a a Pediatric sedation nurse, I have heard the question “why??” and asked it myself more times than I can count. Bless you as you continue to teach…may we never forget that God’s word is always true…

Thank you for writing about coming to faith despite such wrestling over loss and evil intentions. The story of “Ron’s” recovery and the faithfulness of his family is encouraging and inspiring.

Is there a way to read the article on CT without being a paying member? I’m feeling a bit let down for only being able to read the first few paragraphs… I’d really like to read your testimony in its entirety!
