I was delighted to join Elizabeth Fournier in Portland, Oregon, on her podcast. We started talking about Between Life and Death, but quickly veered into questions about faith, career, and God’s work in everything.

Katie, So many of your thoughtful comments hit home for me in this podcast which I listened to 3 times, right in a row. As a former critical care nurse turned palliative care (not hospice) nurse, mother and most of all, a Christian, I identified with so much that you said. The medical world is absolutely hostile to our spiritual natures. Your four principles to use while looking at end of life scenarios as a Christian are excellent. Kudos to you for seeing your way through how your gifts are best used at this time in your life. Thank you for sharing, Ruth

Ruth, thank you for this encouragement! And thank you for shepherding others through suffering as a palliative care nurse. It’s such important work. Blessings to you.
