Rather than ruining your reputation, I think this solidifies where your heart is, and brings up a very valid point about the pressure cooker of professional life, especially in the medical field.
One of our prominent local surgeons used to tell his students that “medicine is a jealous mistress.” He wasn’t far wrong.

Thank you for this post, Dr. Katie! I work in a car manufacturing company, and I see many of my colleagues literally slaving away for the sake of work. It’s easy to forget that Christians are supposed to work as unto the Lord, but not really for any praise from man. This is a great reminder, and I’ll share it with my small group. God bless!
