Just discovered your writing and appreciate what you are doing so much, especially as a Christian physician/mom. Like you I’ve had to cut back significantly from clinical work (internal Med) for a number of reasons. I especially liked the article from desiring God: Doctors Live On The Brink of Death. Thank you again.

Just wanted to say your articles have been an incredible blessing. As a pre-med Christian (who was homeschooled) I’m often caught between the medical literature I love reading (on end of life care, the role of empathy in medicine, etc.) and books which awaken my affections for Christ. Thank you for providing me reading which intertwines the two. I’ve sent many of them to dozens of friends in medical school who have very much appreciated them.

Thank you so much for your feedback! The road is rewarding, but complex and at times unsettling. I pray the Lord guides you and equips you with His peace.

Hi Katie. I have just read your article, Dignity in dementia. This prompted me to your blog site where I found your blog on the experience in Kenya. Both were a great read. I worked in South Africa doing trauma counselling both in the church and community. Ten months ago we emigrated to New Zealand where I now work at a hospice as a pastoral care coordinator. There a very different struggles here and one of them is gospel centred resources on end of life care and counsel. I am looking forward the the realise of your book in the coming months. James

James, thank you for the important work you do, and have done. I can only imagine the challenges. I’m writing this book after having witnessed patients and their families struggle with agonizing questions in the surgical ICU, without context for a Gospel-centered discussion. It’s a comfort to me to know that those in hospice have more support. Blessings to you.
